City of Austin Online Open Enrollment; available 24-7; from October 11 through November 14, 2021 at midnight.
Changes made during Open Enrollment become effective January 1, 2022.

Benefits changes made during September or later will need to be re-entered using this system for the changes to remain in effect for 2022.
Using the Online Enrollment System
If you are adding a spouse/domestic partner - you must change your marital/domestic partner status in the Employee or Retiree Data tab prior to adding them.
If adding a dependent - you can upload the required documentation using the Online Enrollment System or email your documentation to Benefits.HRD@austintexas.gov.
Medical Tab - from this tab you can add or drop dependents, switch medical plans, or waive coverage. For new HMO participants, you must select a BCBS in-network doctor and enter the 10-digit NPI number (not PCP #) on this tab. Instructions to search for a PCP are provided on the Medical tab or you can call BCBS at 888-907-7880, Monday - Friday 8 am - 6 pm. Spanish-speaking representatives are available.
Health Care FSA tab - to enroll in, cancel, increase/decrease your per pay period contribution, and/or request an additional Health Care FSA debit card.
Note: If enrolling in FSA, you will receive one TASC debit card in your name at no cost. You may request additional cards in your dependent's name at no cost (age 18 & older) through the Open Enrollment system. If needed, you may request additional cards at tasconline.com after January 1, 2022.
Deferred Compensation tab - to enroll in Deferred Compensation. Payroll deductions begin January 7, 2022.
Note: the Deferred Compensation tab is not viewable to employees who currently participate in Deferred Compensation. If you are currently participating in Deferred Compensation and wish to change your contributions, go to dcaustin.com or call 866-613-6189.
Tobacco Certification/Save Tab - from this tab you will be able to update your and your spouse's tobacco user status, finalize your open enrollment changes, and print a copy of your 2022 Online Verification for your records.
You will receive a Benefits Confirmation Statement by email or mailed to your home address within two business days after completing the online enrollment process. Review the statement for accuracy.
2022 Tobacco Premium - applies only if you and your spouse are enrolled in a City medical plan and are tobacco users.
Non-Tobacco Users: If you indicated you and your spouse/domestic partner were non-tobacco users during Open Enrollment last fall 2020 or during New Employee Orientation in 2021, no action is needed. You will not pay the Tobacco Premium in 2022.
Tobacco Users: Tobacco premiums will reset January 1, 2022 for anyone having completed the Tobacco Cessation 101 class between January 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021.
To Waive the Premium for 2022:
Retake the class between October 1, 2021 through December 21, 2021.
Take the class anytime in 2022 to waive the Tobacco Premium for the rest of the calendar year.
If you quit using Tobacco, you must participate in Open Enrollment to indicate non-tobacco status.
If you and your covered spouse/domestic partner are both tobacco users and do not take the Tobacco Cessation 101 classes, your tobacco premium will be $25 per pay period.
Tobacco Status: The City encourages you to verify your Tobacco Status online during Open Enrollment, October 11 through November 14, 2021.
